About the Artist
Originally from The Netherlands, a lot of Rozemarijn Oudejans work is inspired by her Dutch roots and the place where she grew up, near the North Sea. Equally important are her new Canadian surroundings in Ottawa, that influence her as well.
It is this ‘Dutch touch' in combination with ‘Canadian context' that makes her artwork unique. Communication is her main goal. To explain complex objects, thoughts, and feelings by simplifying, organizing or rearranging the things we see around us. Or by using visual metaphors in explanation of anything abstract. She enjoys surprising people with refreshing views on ordinary, everyday subjects.
