About the Artist
Luminita Serbanescu, Lou was born in Deva, Transylvania, Romania. The family moved to Bucharest where she studied Architecture at the University of Bucharest. She also continued experimenting with different art forms, drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, photography, etc, while taking art lessons as part of the university courses.
With a degree in Architecture, and a life changing relocation to Canada, art did not wish to be forgotten and began to reclaim little by little its rightful place in Lou’s life. Colour and shape, light and shade, texture and materials are now well at home on canvass, recreating strong emotions, peaceful places, people and landscapes, and above all light that made a strong impression on a mind forever young and a heart full of passion.
